Meet the director
Valsala Jayachandran
An artist, teacher and poet, sharing a lifelong involvement in painting and craft.
Valsala Jayachandran studied painting at Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts and served for many years as an art teacher at Edappon High School. She now directs Chithramaala Institute of Arts & Crafts in Nooranad.
Her practice includes mural, Kalamkari, abstract, oil and coffee painting, alongside traditional decorative crafts. She also writes poetry and essays.
